Tameside Unison Retired Members Association has been in existence since 1973 and is open to ALL Unison members who have retired from work. You do not have to have been a member of the Tameside Branch to become a retired member in Tameside.
We meet in the Etherow Lounge of Ashton Town Hall on the second Tuesday of the month – January to November, at 2pm. (i.e. 11 monthly meetings). A Christmas Dinner is arranged in December.
Unison works to raise awareness of issues which concern older people and to influence decision makers. Our priorities include:
- Pension Poverty
- Health care
- Age discrimination
- Isolation and mobility issues
To become a retired member costs just £15.00 for life. Cheques payable to Tameside Unison Branch. Please contact the branch office on 0161 308 2452 for an application form.
There is an additional fee of £3.00 per annum which entitles you to subsidised payments towards the cost of trips that are organised during the year and the Christmas Dinner. This reduced cost is available to members only, but relatives and friends can attend at the normal cost.
